Brian McCowin didn’t just stumble into the water business; he was born into it. As a child, Brian learned about the dangers of “bad water” from his father, John McCowin, who founded McCowin Water with a clear mission: provide families with clean, safe, and ethical water solutions.
Every summer, while his friends played, Brian was elbow-deep in the family business, learning the ins and outs of water filtration. But like many young people, he took a different path after school—pursuing a career in hotel and restaurant management.
For years, Brian thrived in the hospitality industry, but something gnawed at him. The work no longer aligned with his personal mission. He longed to be part of something more meaningful. One day, fed up with the corporate grind, he quit. He knew he wanted to work for a company that embodied ethical practices, but he had no idea what that looked like. So he began his search.
In 1999, Brian returned to the family business, joining forces with his father until John’s passing in 2003. Since then, Brian and his wife Dava McCowin have been the beating heart of the company, maintaining the same core values: “Great equipment at a great price!” And they’ve elevated that promise by delivering service that’s second to none in Irvine and beyond.
Today, Brian and Dava McCowin continue the family legacy, offering not just water filtration systems, but the peace of mind that comes with ethical, reliable solutions—just like his father always dreamed.
Dava McCowin: A Lifelong Commitment to Health and Wellness through McCowin Water
Dava McCowin’s journey with McCowin Water didn’t begin in a boardroom or a showroom. It began with her passion for health. For years, Dava thrived in the health profession, managing dental offices, medical practices, and health clubs—a career she loved and one that profoundly shaped her understanding of what people need to live healthier, happier lives. In fact, it was in a dental office where she first met Brian McCowin.In 2008, Dava started “helping out” at McCowin Water, thinking she’d only assist on the side while continuing her work in health management. But as the company grew, it became clear that McCowin Water needed more than just occasional support. The role of Office Administrator was becoming vital, and Dava—with her wealth of experience—was the perfect fit.Leaving a beloved career wasn’t easy. Dava had built close relationships with her doctor and patients, and she often joked that leaving felt like “leaving one husband for another.” But the decision to retire early and join McCowin Water full-time in 2011 was the right one. The opportunity to work alongside Brian and help the business grow felt not only natural but necessary.Dava’s commitment to health didn’t wane when she left the medical field; it simply evolved. She realized that providing families with clean, pure water wasn’t far from her original mission of helping people lead healthier lives. Now, instead of managing patients in a medical office, she was ensuring that families throughout Irvine, Newport Beach, and beyond had access to the safest, most reliable water through McCowin’s custom-designed filtration systems.

Mandy – Office Manager
Mandy joined the McCowin Water Family in early April 2021.
Mandy utilizes her previous customer service skills as a commercial insurance agent to help our customers get the best care and service we can offer.
Mandy and her husband Pablo have 5 kids together and live in Foothill Ranch. They like to spend time outdoors – hiking, playing sports, and going to the beach.

Office Coordinator
Monique – Scheduling Manager
Monique is our newest member of the family. She is originally from LA county and went to Saddleback College where she was on the cheer team.
Monique came to us with about 10 years of customer service experience. She loves cooking and listening to true crime podcasts. She also loves “all things Disney” and spending time with her cat.
Monique says, “I am very happy to be a part of the McCowin Family. I look forward to taking care of our customers and continuing this great Legacy.”
Jack –Community Outreach Manager
Jack has been with us since 2021. He initially applied for a Technician position and although we all agreed that it was not the right fit for him, he made such a great impression with us that we created a position for him that matched his many talents.
Besides inventory and ordering and managing our Lowe’s stores, he has so many jobs here that we have referred to him as our “Jack of all trades!” Jack lives in Fullerton with his girlfriend, Miranda and is quite an accomplished and passionate musician.
You can catch Jack nights and weekends performing his music around Orange County.
Bryan - Service Manager
Bryan came to McCowin Water with over 18 years of experience in Water Filtration sales, service and installation.
He is a Hague Quality Water Certified Technician and is licensed by the TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality).
Bryan relocated to Orange County from the Imperial Valley and we are grateful that he chose our Company as his new “work home.” Bryan is married and teaches at his church on his days off.
Kenny – Service Technician
Kenny joined the McCowin family in early 2022. His many years of experience in General Construction and his amazing knowledge of machinery, car motors and anything working with his hands made the transition to installing and servicing water systems easy work for Kenny.
He lives in Lakewood with his fiancee and loves bike riding, paddle boarding, riding electric scooters and especially RC cars. He finds Water Filtration to be an interesting field and it shows – he’s good at it and our customers love Kenny.
Joel – Service Technician
Joel came to McCowin Water through our Scheduler, Monique.
His skillset made him a great asset and he learned very quickly to be a proficient service technician and installer.
His hobbies include playing video games, stock trading and working on his car.
